No hosting complications
The entire application is hosted centrally, so all the user requires is internet access. More importantly, however, all software updates are shared across all users and are implemented as soon as development is finalised. No more waiting for
the latest version to come out. |
Low cost
It is likely to cost £3 - £5 per respondent for a traditional snail-mail survey. Costs incurred include postage, the cost of the envelope and paper, and the time it will take to stuff the envelope, post the letter, and receive and process the responses. SySurvey automates every step of this procedure. |
Wizard Approach to compilationVery little technical knowledge is required since the application uses a wizard approach, with help files on all relevant pages. |
Speed of distribution
SySurvey will greatly reduce the time it takes to construct and distribute a survey thanks to the wizard approach, and the email server integration. |
Email or Web-based
It is possible to distribute the survey by email, or create a fully customised web-page. The email may either be sent as HTML or as plain-text. |
Speed of responseDue to the nature of the delivery mechanism, email, it is very quick for a respondent to fill in the survey and return it. The respondent does not have to wait for the mail to be delivered, to open it, and then after completing it to post it back. |
Response rates
The speed and ease of response leads to a greatly increased response rate. Compare around 3% for traditional direct mail to SySurveys average 55% response rate. |
Ability to handle large volumes of respondents
Desktop email survey tools must use the customers internal email servers to process the mailshot. Often they will not have the capacity to deal with thousands of emails. If the customer does not have an internal email server then they will likely have to use their ISPs email server. |
Viewing of results as responses arrive
Top line, cross-tabulation and graphical results are available from the moment the survey is distributed. The author does not have to wait for all the responses to be received or processed before the results can be seen. |
Download of recognized file types
User is able to download a CSV file, which is readable in any modern spreadsheet package. Syclick is also working with a number of research agencies to make extract files available in many recognised research packages and cross-tabulation systems.
Distribution of survey data
The government has recently identified as a problem the lack of distribution of research data, so the integration of SySurvey with a DDI z39.50 node allows social scientists to make the results of their surveys available for others to use. The DDI format provides access security, thus allowing the author to control who views and downloads the results. |
Market research consultancy
Syclick has over 6 years experience in the research industry and can provide qualified market researchers to assist in the development, design and analysis of any questionniare. |
Security
All survey data is hosted behind a password-protected firewall. Because it uses Microsoft's SQLServer database it inherits many further security features. The SySurvey system is as secure as your company's internal IT infrastructure. Syclick also adheres to the Data Protection Act. |
Telmar Compliant
We have been working with Telmar to make SySurvey data available within Telmar's research systems. Upon request we are able to upload your results into the Telmar desktop system for comprehensive cross-tabulation and cluster analysis. |
Cross Viewing and Selling
SySurvey allows you to give other people any level of access to your data. You could, for example, provide your US HR department read-only access to your London-based employee satisfaction survey. Also it is always possible to put an author looking for a particular set of respondents in contact with another author who has such a list of respondents. |
